Planning and Development

National and local planning policy requires the protection and enhancement of green infrastructure and for trees to be considered as part of the planning application process. We produce arboricultural information to support site planning applications in accordance with the British Standard BS5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction- Recommendations.
We work as part of the design team to Identify tree constraints and produce effective design solutions that allow the retention and protection of key trees within the development scenario.
Information we provide in support of a planning application includes:
- Arboricultural Constraints Report: In which the constraints of the trees (root protection areas, crown spreads etc.) are identified by means of a site survey in order to inform the site design layout, includes an Autocad Tree Constraints Plan
- Arboricultural Impact Assessment: An assessment of the impact the development will have on the trees and of the impact retained trees will have post development
- Arboricultural Method Statement: Including a clear specification for tree protection measures for the duration of the development, includes an Auto Cad Tree Protection Plan
Other related services we offer include:
- Pre-development site surveys: To assess development feasibility
- Arboricultural clerk of works: To oversee arboricultural operations
We can also secure planning consent for tree work where trees are covered by Tree Preservation Orders and can appeal (if there is justification) against work application refusals by local planning authorities.
If you are considering developing a site with trees in close proximity or have been asked to provide an arboricultural report in support of an application please contact us to see how we can be of service.
